Well-designed cover is easy to install and protects my Sony HVR-Z1U very well. One big plus is that it packs up into a small bag. This rain cover leaves the external LCD screen easily visible. Plus, you can use the viewfinder eyepiece as well. There’s a spot for your shotgun mic (even with the windscreen on) to still pick up sound. And it’s easy (well, as easy as it ever is with a rain cover on) to operate exposure and focus controls. I found this one to be the best cover on the market for this camera.

A semirigid divider separates the bright orange cushioned interior. On one side,the camcorder fits snugly, secured by a sturdy nylon strap. On the other side, a second chamber provides ample room for storing batteries, chargers, cables and more. The divider comes equipped with detachable padded pouches perfect for holding other accessories. Remove the pouches to create an additional storage area large enough to hold a laptop.
