Great Battery for HMC150, October 16, 2010

I’ve had this battery for six months now and just love it! I can shoot for a couple hours with it using my HMC150 camera. The charge light on the battery is handy too. I like this battery so much I’m buying another one.

I recorded a Frightened Rabbit concert without stopping once using this battery and didn’t even get to the halfway point on the indicator. That show was about an hour and a half so I have to imagine you get one of these and a backup, and you should be good to go. Great product. It is a little heavy and the LED indicator is weird, but you’ll get used to it and it is an unkillable battery.

I bought 5 to replace batteries in all the house phones, these were cheap enough to allow me to be “green” and continue using my phones without feeling like it would be cheaper to just go out and buy a new phone set! I knocked a star off because I felt the shipping and handling charges were excessive, but it still came out much cheaper than a new phone system. The batteries all charge and hold charges as well as the mfg batteries when my phones were new. I’ve had them a couple of months now and no problems. Even though the shipping was a bit much, I did get the product in a quick time frame.

Worked right away in one of my Uniden 6.0 ghz dect phones and charged up quickly. Shipping was a little expensive for such a small item.

Great camera but faulty technical specs, March 14, 2011

I received my Sony HDR-CX130 today and was shocked to find that IT HAS NO MICROPHONE INPUT of ANY KIND!

I alerted Sony and they thanked me for bringing to their attention this error on their technical specifications listed (and promptly linked me to a page that allegedly says it’s not their fault if errors are made on their advertising.. that link did not work either, btw bwaha).

So, no, NO 3.5 mini jack or ANY mic/audio input whatsoever.

Also, every auto-focus mode is EXTREMELY SLOW, and the “manual” controls are next to impossible to adjust due to the DESIGN. I have been practicing for HOURS and STILL haven’t gotten the hang of using any of the “manual” controls. It’s basically, “set everything to automatic and HOPE for the best” which is not too convenient for any point-and-shoot.

On the bright side, the “touch the screen to focus on that area” DOES seem to work rather well 50% of the time, and I am pretty sure THAT is the way I will be focusing…

Good Price, Good Camera, March 28, 2011

Pros = 1) Good price and 2) takes pretty good high definition footage. 3) Memory sticks are pretty handy and easier to deal with than Hi-8 tapes like my older Sony standard definition camcorder used.

Cons = 1) As others have already stated…the LCD screen is pretty hard to see in outdoor sun conditions. Recently tried to capture the USAF Thunderbirds in flight and found it to be quite the challenge. The camera really would have been much better if it had thru-the-lens viewfinder in addition to the LCD. 2) Also, the auto-focus is a bit slow. The camera does allow for manual focus, but the feature is through the menu list and is push-button rather than a twist of the lens. Not very practical for most situations.

Overall, a good camera for the money unless you’re prepared to shuck some big bucks out!

I bought this at a store, not Amazon. I read good reviews about earlier models, and was a bit hesitant to buy this camera because a few people said the video quality was bad. I took the risk, but they were right. The video (and digital picture) quality are unacceptable. Even in decent lighting, the pictures are very dark and grainy, as if they were taken by an old webcam. Even at high quality, there was no improvement. Also, the autofocus was very poor and did not adjust to fast-moving subjects. Don’t be fooled if you try it in a store; the LCD screen has great resolution (better than an iPod) but when you see the video on a computer screen (even when not blown to full size) or on a projection screen, the video quality is so bad. It looks average on a traditional TV. And the zoom mic also does not capture sound effectively. I was going to use this for business videography, but it would have been embarrassing to use this camcorder. I suspect similar camcorders (i.e. 1/6 CCD) may have…

Sony Handycam is ok, April 14, 2010

I bought this with 3 basic needs, 1.I wanted something compact, 2. I wanted the capability to take pictures. 3. I wanted it to have a night vision light. You would think these 3 things would be easy to find in many cameras at a decent price range, but they were not! So how did this fair up? This camera is one of the most compact, even smaller than I expected. 2. It’s picture taking ability I was least impressed with. It was pretty grainy. 3. The night vision light was pretty weak, but hey I expected that for such a small camera. The battery life with the standard battery was about avg. 4 hrs. As far as working the camera, it was VERY simple, figured it out in 5 minutes w/o reading instructions, needless to say, there are VERY few menu screens, touch screen is kinda nice, but would also liked to have the capability to tape w/the viewfinder closed. All in all, i’m pretty happy w/the purchase, just don’t buy it if you want it to take good pictures, i’ve had phones that took clearer…

Poor video quality–overall not good, March 10, 2010

I purchased this camera at a store, believing the SONY brand name and previous good reviews about similar Sony camcorders. There are several flaws to this product.

Cons

1. Picture quality is very poor, Indoor and outdoor pictures in good light appear with a bluish tint all over. If you wear a white /gray cloth it appears bluish on video. Like wise the sunlight coming inside your house through window /blinds all appears light blue!! Even with good lighting the quality of images are very bad, lacks sharpness, This in comparison to my old Panasonic PV GS120 is not even close to true color. If you view the pictures on a TV screen it will definitely appear lacking the sharpness. If you are transferring the video to computer using the supplied software it appears very blurry and grainy.

2. There is no way you can charge the battery when camcorder is in use even if there is a spare battery because the battery charging is done hooking up the AC adapter to the camcorder…

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 eats through batteries like there’s no tomorrow. The LCD is always on while you’re tinkering around with either photos or video, so I decided to get a spare battery and this charger too boot. Works as it should in the car, but it also has fold out prongs for the wall socket, so it now I have spare wall charger as well. Good deal!

Does not work for my ZS3, November 9, 2010

I have a DMC-ZS3, and this does NOT work for the battery. My battery has 4 slots/ contacts and the charger only has 2. Also, the chargers contacts do not even line up with the battery contacts. Makes no sense. Battery kinda fits into the charger, but it will not work. Not happy.

Very functional and convenient charger for my DMC Lumix Camera battery.

And iot works both AC (comes with Ac plug not shown) and of course the 12V DC for the car.

Great for those who can run out of batteries while doing a lot of shots / flashlight shots away from AC outlet.

Easy to use, lots of capability!, March 2, 2002

I have worn out two other camcorders in the past 18 years. When I decided to replace my most recent one, I wanted something that would have an LCD screen, be comfortable to hold, and be easy to operate. I also didn’t want to spend a lot of money. With a little research, I found the PV-L452, and was delighted with its list of features, including the capability of taking digital still photos! After purchasing it, I charged the battery and read through the instruction book, then began shooting. The camcorder is a nice weight, heavy enough to feel solid, but light enough to be held without fatigue, with conveniently placed controls. The zoom operates cleanly and crisply. The camcorder includes a number of special effects, and once connected to my computer, editing was a snap! This is a wonderful camcorder for the price, with plenty of high end features for those of us that enjoy videotaping, yet is easy enough for a novice to pick up and take great video right away. Nice Camera…but it won’t talk to my PC, October 23, 2002

I purchased this camcorder/digital camera in May 2002 and found that it takes excellent video, is easy to use, and seemed to be a good value. Unfortunately my good first impression came to an end. Despite every trick known to a computer geek and following Panasonic’s instructions to the letter, I cannot get the camera to “talk” to my PC. Therefore the digital camera function is worthless to me now. Panasonic’s product literature states the Windows 95/98/Me/2000 OS is required. I am using Windows XP. So I went to Panasonic’s website to download the newest iteration of the software but that didn’t solve the problem. I called Panasonic’s customer service and despite numerous busy signals, finally reached a rep who was basically clueless. It might be the cable, but I don’t want to buy a new one. I’d really like Panasonic to solve the problem!

I bought this camera with my money, and i have never been happier with anything else. The resolution is great, its got many effects, and the digital camera works great. One thing I love about the digital camera is that you can hook up the camera to the TV, turn on the digital camera, and play the pictures, creating a slide-show. I really like the way the camcorder part is easy to use; I was able to teach myself how to use it and I’m a first time user. So, it is a great first time use camera.

I just got back from my local electronics store which, to my surprise, had the GS35 in stock and on sale. I was very pleased with the ease of use and accuracy of the thumbstick control. Though, the menu button was a bit out of reach for my thumb thus requiring me to use my other hand to push it. The built-in LED lights help shed some light on dark situations, but I noticed an even greater benefit from the increase in gain when the light was switched on. The lens used on this camera is out-of-sight! Not only does it offer high telephoto optical zoom, it offers what few other camcorders out there have: built-in wideangle. The lens is 1.9-57mm which equates roughly to a 35mm equivalent of 35-1040mm. So, go ahead, shoot video indoors and get the whole group in the shot at once!

Too great for words!!!, August 13, 2005

I was a little worried about purchasing this camera, the reviews on all the sites i checked were all 5 stars (nothing below that) but i’d never used anything other than cannon and minolta. I wont say I know everything about camcorders/cameras but I know enough to know a good one compared to a bad one, and this is a GREAT camcorder/camera. I have only had it about 2 1/2 to 3 weeks, but I’ve so much videos that turned out crisp and clear, with great sound. I love the light for low light shots, although I dont take many in the dark, it’s still a nice feature. I love that you can take video as well as use a memory card to take photos, thats a great option. I Highly recommend this camcorder/camera to anyone who wants a great zoom, with great features….you’ll love this camera, I know I do!!!

Wonderful Camera, August 10, 2005

I recently purchased this camera due to my husband being deployed, I wanted something inexpensive that I could use as a camera to take still pictures and for a web cam to talk to my husband over seas. This camera can do all that and then some. The LCD is great for taking self portraits and has a bright enough screen that even in the sun light you can still see the picture. Plus it is small enough that I can take it with me were ever I go. This shipping through amazon is great, I live in Alaska and it only took about a week to get it up here. I would give Panasonic and Amazon 10 stars if I could. I would definetly recommend this to anyone looking for a great camera at a low cost.
